CHARD Rugby Club's pre-season training is about to be put to the test as the side is set to start playing some friendly matches.
Ahead of the upcoming campaign in the Regional 2 Tribute South West division, Chard has put its players through a rigorous training regime.
Currently five weeks in, the Chard squad has been doing a mixture of fitness training as well as tactics and on field training. They even spent some time at the beach doing extra fitness work.
But the training now moves to pre-season friendly action as on Tuesday night (August 15), Chard will play their first match of the season.
The game is against Taunton Warriors, the second team at Taunton Rugby Club and will be played at 7.30pm at Veritas Park in Taunton.
Chard were also due to play Yeovil RFC in a friendly but that game has been cancelled as the opposition were unable to raise a side.
The final pre-season friendly match for Chard is against Wiveliscombe at Essex Close on August 24.
