A ‘DISGUSTING’ graffiti has been sprayed on a post box in Tatworth.
Cllr Connor Payne said he noticed a swastika was sprayed on Gulway Mead and said it was “a disgusting thing to see”.
Avon and Somerset Police said the incident took place “at some point between July 20 and July 23.
Cllr Payne said: “When I saw it, I just thought it was a really disgusting thing to see. It’s the last thing people want to see in their community.
“I don’t know who is responsible for this, maybe they thought it was a joke, but it cannot be tolerated.
“I reported it but when it comes to removing it, it is better done by professionals. I posted it on Facebook so that if people know anything or have any information can report it to the police.
“It's disgusting in this day and age but at the same time, we are in that day and age where people find it funny.”
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We are aware of an incident of offensive graffiti being sprayed on a post box in the Drakes Crescent area of Tatworth.
"An online report of criminal damage was received over the weekend and the informant believes the damage occurred at some point between 20-23 July.
"We'd ask anyone with information to contact us online or on 101 quoting reference number 5223177049."
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: "A work order has been raised and the post-box will be cleaned of this graffiti."
