BRACE yourself for some pretty unpleasant weather in Chard this afternoon.
Don't be lulled into a false sense of security by the bright start to today (Sunday, July 9).
The Met Office forecasts scattered showers breaking out from mid-morning and continuing through the day.
Then from around 4pm it is predicting thunder and lightning, but still with some sunny intervals in between.
It wil feel much fresher than of late with a maximum temperature of around 23degs C.
