CHARD folk can enjoy an afternoon of live music with a professional musician at a pub in the town next month.
Andy Doran, who has been playing guitar and singing live for nearly 40 years, will be performing at The Candlelight Inn in Bishopswood, Chard, on Sunday, April 23 from 1.30pm.
Mike Rose, owner of the pub, said: “Andy’s style of music goes down extremely well with our customers, so well that we have decided to invite him back to play for everyone once again.
“He performs a great set of classic and modern songs and there really is something for everyone. His style of playing is the perfect accompaniment for customers who want to enjoy a drink or some food.”
The Candlelight Inn is a 17th-century pub set in the village of Bishopswood in the heart of the Blackdown Hills.
It boasts original flint walls, wooden floors, intimate lighting, and open fires.
It offers pulled beers, ciders, a food menu and various events, which run throughout the year.
Andy sings and plays acoustic guitar at pubs, clubs, functions, restaurants, and hotel lounges across the South West.
His repertoire includes a variety of classic and modern cover tracks. Andy has toured with the late, great Cornish comedian, Jethro, and performed for King Charles III, when he was Prince Charles, and for the young Princes William and Harry.
He said: “I am really looking forward to playing at the Candlelight Inn again and seeing some familiar faces, and hopefully some new ones too.”
