RESIDENTS in Chard are reminded to have their say through a survey before it expires next week.
The Community Plan was launched last month (February 20) to “identify the issue of importance to Chard residents”.
The survey will expire later this month, on March 24.
Kate Burrough from Smart Communities Ltd said: “This is your chance to have your say in Chard.
“The Community Review project is giving communities across Somerset the chance to show what’s important for them right now – what activities you want to see on offer in your communities, how you can develop a new community hub or playground, what you need to best respond to the climate emergency and the Cost of Living Crisis.
“It covers topics around Health and Wellbeing, Traffic and Travel, Community Safety, and Housing.
“After the survey closes, we’ll be working with the Chard steering group to identify priority issues and help them find funding to make real change happen. The full report will be out in June this year so it’s a swift process to keep the momentum going.”
“Please complete our survey to show Chard’s community priorities across economic, social, and environmental issues.
“Tell us what services and support you would like to see delivered in the Community Hub, how we could develop the street market and encourage more people into the town centre, how Chard can become a greener place to live - and more.
“Entries will be entered into a prize draw to win vouchers from a range of Chard businesses – have your say before the survey closes on March 24.
The plan will aim to:
• Gather information from effective consultation and community involvement.
• Identify local characteristics people value
• Identify any issues that affect the Town as well as opportunities and ways to address them
• Through consultation find out how residents want their community and town to develop in the future
• Include a plan of action and identify those who need to be involved to achieve the vision with a realistic programme for funding and delivery
