A TOWN council has launched a survey on the possibility of setting up ‘warm rooms’ for its residents to help tackle the spiralling cost of fuel.
Chard Town Council said it is “considering working with other partners to alleviate the crisis for the community” by setting up free community ‘warm rooms’.
A message published on the town council’s website read: “With winter around the corner and the spiralling cost of fuel, Chard Town Council is considering working with other partners to alleviate the crisis for the community.
“One possibility is the provision of free community ‘warm rooms’ where members of the community can go to have a hot drink, charge their phones and receive advice on what additional support is available.
“As such, we would be grateful if you could complete our short questionnaire which will help us better understand the community need this winter and help us shape how best we could respond.
“Please do complete this brief questionnaire regardless of anticipated need.
“Please also help others you know to fill in this online form or complete a paper copy which is available at the town council offices.

The survey’s deadline is Wednesday, November 30.
