ANOTHER week of two halves, saw Chard Road Runners members taking on races on both Saturday and Sunday.
One of the few weeks of the year when club members actually appreciate the "8 miles, 1 hill" routes, as this week's theme was muddy hills!
Starting in reverse order, Simon headed off to the beautiful National Trust Castle Drogo for the Drogo 10.
He finished in 1:53:35 slightly behind last years effort but a great day out none the less.
Elsewhere, Matt Robinson, Elizabeth Cox and Helen Baxter were joined by Jeremy Taylor, for the start of the Lemur loop 10k and 12 hour race.
Matt and Jeremy got off to a good start on the 10k and picked off the majority of the field, as they made light work of the 800 feet of elevation, to take 2nd and 3rd places, Matt in 0:47:20 and Jeremy hot on his heels in 0:47:22.
Not one to shirk a challenge, Lizzie ended up doing 5 laps covering 30 miles, her longest distance to date, finishing in 54th place and 15th lady.
Helen continued on and was somewhat surprised to be overtaken by Becky Tovey much later in the evening who had only started after finishing work and putting in an incredible 5 laps just ahead of the 9pm deadline, nabbing 34th place and 7th lady with her 5 laps.
