PEOPLE from Chard can enjoy afternoons of live music from a singer and guitarist who has performed for King Charles III in October and November.
Andy Doran, who has been performing for more than 35 years, will play at The Candlelight Inn in Bishopswood on October 30 and November 20 (both Sundays).
Mike Rose, owner of the pub, said: “Andy has performed for us in the past and went down so well with our regulars that we just had to get him back again.
“His style of acoustic songs are perfect for the atmosphere here at the pub and anyone who comes along will be able to enjoy lots of hits.
“He’ll be playing for us on October 30 from 12.30pm until 3pm and, as if that wasn’t enough of a treat, he’ll also be back to perform for us again on Sunday, November 20 from 1pm until 4pm.”
The Candlelight Inn is a 17th century pub in the village of Bishopswood in the heart of the Blackdown Hills.
It boasts original flint walls, wooden floors, intimate lighting and open fires. The pub offers beers, ciders, a food menu, and various events, which run through the year.
Andy sings and plays acoustic guitar at pubs, clubs, functions, restaurants and hotel lounges across the south west.
His repertoire includes a variety of classic and modern cover tracks.
He has toured with the lateCornish comedian, Jethro, and performed for King Charles III (when he was Prince Charles), and for the young Princes William and Harry.
He said: “I am thrilled to have been invited back to play at the Candlelight Inn again.
“It looks set to be a relaxed Sunday afternoon of music and customers can enjoy a drink or a hearty lunch while they listen.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the run up to Christmas.”
