A PRIMARY school in Chard has celebrated World Mental Health Day by taking part in the ‘Hello Yellow’ initiative.
Thorncombe St Mary's Primary School joined the event on Monday, October 10, and also raised funds for the Young Minds charity.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We all wore yellow as a symbol that we are not alone.
“Our team of Mental Health Ambassadors (a group of elected children) took an active role in organising a presentation which they presented to the rest of the school about the importance of taking care of our mental health and the people that we can reach out to when we need support.
“They then instructed the children to split into two groups and work together on a 'Hello Yellow Treasure Hunt'.
“As a school, we raised funds through this to donate towards Young Minds which is a charity for children, young people, and their parents.”
