A NEW group for carers and the persons they care for has been launched in Henhayes Centre in Crewkerne.
The monthly group, starting on October 19, will combining a gentle flexercise and coordination-based activity with a new carers group.
A spokesperson said: “This is a great way for carers who are unable to link with others because they are unable to leave the person, they care for alone anxious about attending groups alone can't afford or can't find respite for the person they care for want to find interesting activities for the person they care for.
“This is a monthly group starting in October on Wednesday 19 from 2pm to 3.30pm.
“New group leaders and volunteers are welcome to join the group in Henhayes, buy a cuppa and meet the team in the dividing room.
“The group is funded for eight months by Sport England and so is free to access.
“This is part of the community offer for Carers across Somerset from Somerset Carers Service.”
Anyone interested can contact Cath Holloway on 07951944420 for more information about whether it would be suitable for the person you care for to attend.
