THE Dowlish Wake and District Flower and Produce Show took place last weekend for the first time since the Covid pandemic.
The event took place on Sunday, September 4 at 2pm in Speke Hall and St Andrews Church.
Neighbouring villages in the district supported this annual event with entrants of all ages.
There was a range of sections for entry including Vegetables and Fruit, Flowers, Floral Art, Homemade Preserves and Cookery, Arts and crafts, and Photography.
There is a special section for children with ages ranging from 4 and under to 15 years.
The Potato Dig features in all ages and is won by the child who has grown the greatest weight of potatoes from a single tuber, in addition there is 'Face on a Plate' for the 4 and under and a Rainbow or Miniature pond for all ages.
This year the Floral Art topics included arrangements “In an Unusual container”, “Favourite book” and “Planet(s)”.
The photographic topics were “Sundowner”, “Tree at any Season”, “Pets at play” and “The Garden Shed”.
All sections were judged and prizes are awarded at the end of the afternoon.
