CREWKERNE Charter Fair took place last weekend.
The Sunday Street Market was badly affected by the weather, a spokesperson said, but the Charter Fair was successful.
The spokesperson also said: "The Charter Fair this weekend went off very well despite the chaos caused by the roadworks in Ashlands Road, over which the Rotary Club of Crewkerne had no control.
“Friday evening saw the opening of Edward Danter's Funfair and the whole town came alive.
“Crowds were entertained by the Blackdown Samba Band who parade through to Falkland Square and there was further entertainment in Oscar’s courtyard from the ever popular Stoke Sub-Hamdon Silver Band.
“Saturday was a quieter day, but the funfair was in full swing with people young and old enjoying the rides.
“Unfortunately, the Sunday Street Market was badly affected by the weather with 11+ stalls cancelling. However, those stalwarts that came along provided a good selection of things to buy and the sun shone, albeit briefly.
“Plans for next year will start in the coming months and we shall be addressing the problems encountered this year.
“Thank you, Crewkerne, for your support, patience, and understanding during this particularly trying weekend.”
