CHARD Carnival Committees’ annual Street Fayre will take place this Saturday (September 10) from 9am until 4pm on Holyrood Street.

Jason Baker, chairman of Chard Carnival Committee, said this will include over 50 stalls including some great food, arts, and crafts, and much more.

There will be live music and entertainment on the main stage throughout the day, this will include a variety of music and dance performances.

All of this coincides with the National Heritage Open Days events.

There will be lots to do in Chard on the as well as the Street Fayre the museum will be holding an “Exploration of Water” which will include talks on the history of the water running down each side the town centre.

The Guildhall will be hosting tours of the building including a trip up into the clock tower.

  • 12.45pm-1pm - Chard Carnival Royalty Crowning
  • 1pm-2pm - Jack Humphries
  • 2pm-2.30pm - Belly Dance Heaven
  • 2.30pm-3.15pm - Re-mastered The Band
  • 3.15pm-4pm Tootin Hoodlums

“The children’s carnival will set off from manor court school at noon and make its way through the town.

“The evening carnival will start at 7.30pm from Tapstone road making its way around the town ending in East Street.
