ILMINSTER’s annual Party on the Park took place last weekend.
This year’s event started on Friday, August 26 at noon at the Ilminster Recreation Ground.
The party, which featured live music, games, and food, was free and the numerous stalls raised funds for several good causes.
The list of artists and bands that took part in the event included: Guitarist on Wheels, Jason Darch, Lisa Shearman, DVO, Rizen, Lucie D, Hillbilly Sunrise, Elvis Experience, A Thousands Suns, Ph4se, Frazer Mitchell.
The event also featured a variety of stalls and activities including charity stalls, family fun, Enigma Morris, African Drumming, Merriot Majorettes, Ilminster Diamonds, plus food and drinks.
There were also activities such as Treasure Maps, Hook the duck, Coconut shy, Face Painting, Wine or Water, a Pirate target game, tombola, bouncy castle, and a kids soft play area.
Refreshments were provided by the cricket club bar and included cider & Pimms/Prosecco bar, BBQ, cream tea tent, and a burger van.
Ilminster's Party on the Park was established in 2013, following calls from residents of Ilminster to have an event similar to the one which was organised to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Party on the Park was set up to bring the community together and raise the profile of local community groups and charities and enable them to increase their membership and funds.
