TWO campervans were completely destroyed and a barn was damaged by a fire that broke out in Sea, near Ilminster.
The incident happened yesterday, Wednesday, August 3 at around 11.55pm.
The cause of the fire is “currently undetermined,” Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Fire control received multiple reports of a vehicle on fire at the above location.
“Control immediately sent two fire engines coming from Ilminster and Chard and a water Bowser from Yeovil.
“Once in attendance crews confirmed two vehicles were well alight and got to work to extinguish the fire.
“This was closely followed by an assistance message of 'Make Pumps 6' due to the fire starting to involve a nearby barn.
“Crews were at work with two Hose Reel Jets, three 45mm attack jets, and two Breathing Apparatus wearers, the crews confirmed they had successfully extinguished the fire and were at work damping down the surrounding area.
“This fire involved two campervans that were 100 per cent damaged by fire along with a barn that was 15 per cent damaged by fire.
“There was also fire spread to another vehicle this was 30 per cent damaged by fire.
“In total crews used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, three 45mm attack jets, one safety jet, and one thermal imaging camera.
“The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.”
