A TATWORTH road will be closed for three days later this week to allow Wessex Water to repair a “domestic leak”.
Waterlake Road will be closed from midnight on July 27 until 23.59pm on July 29 – meaning it will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Somerset County Council’s roadworks website said: “Wessex Water to carry out works to repair domestic leak. We will do our utmost to minimise disruption where possible.”
Waterlake Road will be closed “from the junction with Tatworth Street eastwards for a total distance of 100 metres.”
A diversion will be in place via Fore Street, Perry Street, Roman Road, and Axminster Road.
A Wessex Water spokesperson said: “A section of Waterlake Road will be closed from the junction with Tatworth Street, with a short diversion in place, while we repair a leaking pipe.
“The closure will allow us to complete this work safely and within a couple of days. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.”
Waterlake Road has a 20mph speed limit and includes the Church of St John the Evangelist and housing.
Wessex Water supplies around 1.3 million people with water in Bristol, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Somerset, and Wiltshire.
Lower Coombes, another Tatworth road, is also currently closed for “Milestone Infrastructure to carry out structural drainage works”.
The road closed on July 18 and will remain shut until August 7.
Milestone Infrastructure delivers a range of services to the water, energy, transport, and telecom sectors in the UK and Ireland.
