LEADING children’s charity Barnardo’s is spreading the good-feeling and raising awareness of its range of pre-loved clothing and accessories, with its new ‘Fashion For All’ campaign, including Yeovil’s Vanessa White.
The charity has teamed up with a host of famous faces to highlight that as one of the country’s largest charity retailers, Barnardo’s is the destination to purchase great quality, great value pre-loved fashion and accessories.
With a photo shoot featuring a dynamic group of famous faces that champion inclusivity and diversity, the summer campaign demonstrates that no matter your body type, shape, age, sexual orientation, and budget, there is something for everyone at your local Barnardo’s store.
Styled by Alexandra Fullerton, and shot by Candice Lake, the photoshoot features a host of celebrities eager to lend their support, including Vanessa White from Yeovil, best known for being part of the pop group The Saturdays.
Vanessa said: “I absolutely love going to charity shops – some of my favourite pieces are from the charity shop and I love that it’s sustainable and better for the planet.”
Barnardo’s stores stock a wide assortment of great quality items from well-known brands, all at a fraction of the RRP.
According to new research commissioned by the charity, shoppers are becoming increasingly mindful of the rising cost of living and, as a result, 40 per cent of women have said they are likely to increase the regularity of how often they will shop in charity shops.
The new research also shows:
• Top reasons for shopping in charity shops amongst women who do are: Saving money (61 per cent), the thrill of finding a bargain (60 per cent) and concerns around the effect of fast fashion/landfill on the environment (42 per cent).
• Over half (51 per cent) of women are proud to tell others the clothes/ accessories they’re wearing were charity shop purchases.
• Over one in 10 (12 per cent) women state they shop in charity shops at least once a fortnight.
Barnardo’s head of retail operations Sharon Goswami, said: “We’re delighted to be supported by such a diverse group of celebrities and influencers who champion second-hand fashion and circularity within the fashion industry.
“With this summer being a bit more ‘normal’ than in recent years, there has never been a better time to support your local charity shop to hunt for that perfect outfit.
“Pre-loved fashion and accessories have a place in every wardrobe and Barnardo’s is the perfect place to shop for them, whilst supporting us in our quest to raise vital funds to support vulnerable children, young people, and families across the UK.”
