Pupils from all ten of The Redstart Learning Partnership's primary schools recently came together for the first time to celebrate performing arts.
Pupils from the schools based in Somerset and Devon attended the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton on Wednesday, June 8, where they received singing, dancing and acting workshops from industry professionals.
After rehearsing their pieces, the budding young performers presented a variety show in the afternoon for their friends and families, using the Brewhouse's professional stage.
Approximately 170 children attended, enjoying the wonderful opportunity to further enrich their learning.
In addition to this fantastic experience, the partnership arranged a special art competition to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The winners were chosen by Suzanne Flack, the CEO of TRLP, Ethne Staniland, the Subject Leader of Art for TRLP and Susan Browning, a local artist from Somerset.
The winning pieces were displayed in the Brewhouse Theatre foyer for all to see.
Ms Staniland said "‘It was wonderful to see the talent we have across all of our schools. 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards were given for each year group from Reception to Year 6 as they stood out and were a great interpretation of the Jubilee theme.
"They were vibrant and showed creativity, individuality and an innovative use of colour and texture."
