RESIDENTS have replaced a Jubilee decoration after it disappeared from a pillar box.
The Jubilee-themed crown was knitted by a resident in Hendford, Yeovil, and placed on a post box outside Homeville House on Sunday afternoon, May 29.
The following day, Monday, May 30, a man found out the crown was not on the post box anymore.
Alan Collier said a woman had “spent so much time” working on the decoration to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
He said: “She spent so much time making that crown, it’s a bit upsetting.”
Mr Collier said a new one has been put on the pillar box today, Wednesday, June 1.
He added that it was made by the same woman, today (Wednesday, June 1) to replace the previous one on the corner of Hendford and Manor Road.
Mr Collier said: “Hopefully it won’t be easy to take off. This time has been fastened a bit better.”
