WORKS to repair a street light cable fault on the A358 have been completed.
Earlier today (Thursday, May 26), Travel Somerset said Western Power Distribution (WPD) was going to start an "urgent excavation" in Hornsbury Hill.
It was initially said WPD works could have lasted until June 1, but a WPD spokesperson later said that they were planning to finish by the end of this afternoon (May 26).
Somerset County Council then confirmed works were completed this afternoon just before 4pm.
Below is the initial update posted on Twitter by the council authority.

In another update, Travel Somerset said there could be delays as this clashed with other planned works carried out by Wales and West Utilities.
There may be long delays as unfortunately this clashes with other planned works by Wales & West Utilities which are approximately 1km away. WWu are due to be complete by the end of today when it is hoped congestion should ease.

A spokesperson for Western Power Distribution previously said: "A street light was reported as not working and our teams have been doing repairs since 9.30am this morning [Thursday, May 26] hoping to get it fixed by the end of the afternoon."
The spokesperson also said there were temporary traffic lights in place both ways but traffic was "going through".
A Somerset County Council spokesperson said that there are now "no disruptions".
