A REPORT from the recent inspection in March this year has rated Tatworth Primary School ‘good’ in all areas, with inspectors praising many aspects of school life.
The report read: “Pupils are enthusiastic learners and keen to do well. They strive to reach the school’s highest rewards by showing curiosity and determination.”
The children told inspectors that “the school rules make things fair for everyone” and “explaining and discussing their work helps them to remember what they learn.”
The report also stated that “the school is inclusive and teachers are mindful of pupils’ well-being”.
“Leaders seek to build pupils’ aspirations and self-belief and all staff have consistently high expectations of pupils’ behaviour.”
Equally, children know to look and listen in lessons, and they work together purposefully.
Children are confident that they can share their worries with an adult and are enthusiastic to join in the school’s exercise programme to help them stay healthy and safe.
The report goes on to say that children learn to read successfully and that “children’s interest and enjoyment in reading begins early.”
Children also experience well-chosen stories and develop their language and knowledge of the world.
The school has recently developed and refined its curriculum to focus on the important knowledge that children should learn. New learning will build on what pupils know and can do already.
Ms Hart, headteacher of Tatworth Primary School, said: “It is fantastic that Ofsted has recognised what a great school Tatworth Primary is and that we are continuing to develop and support our children to achieve and shine.”
“We pride ourselves on our commitment to all our children to have a real sense of belonging. “The report highlights the excellent standard of education, care and support the children receive.
"The dedicated staff, governors, parents, and wonderful children make Tatworth a truly special place.”
