AN INDEPENDENT special school raised funds for a food bank by joining a car wash.
3 Dimensions, an Independent Special School in Wadeford, took part in a school car wash to raise funds for The Lord’s Larder in Chard.
The students and staff worked together and asked for monetary and food donations.
With the money they raised, they went to the local supermarket and purchased items that the Lord’s Larder was in need of.

Two of their students then went and delivered the food and were also able to help the volunteers label and store the items.
Caroline Rolfe, head of education at the school, said: “The commitment and understanding that our students showed to this community cause was exemplary, especially when we consider that they each have their own difficulties to face. Our students are a credit to our school, and we are extremely proud of them all.”
The small school of 16 raised over £60 that was used was used to buy food which was donated alongside food items given by parents.
