Chard residents have been working together to create five banners for the town over the past ten months.
Contributors to the designing of the banners include Chard Museum, Manor Court Primary School, and many other local businesses, organisations, and families.
Artist Jenny Mellings played a big role in the project’s organisation and design process.
She said: "It is hoped that we will celebrate the best aspects of Chard, its people, culture, and environment, in ways that the community can engage with, enjoy and feel proud of."
The five completed banners were unveiled last week, on April 29, as part of the town's first Culturally Chard festival.
The presentation of the banners attracted 300 visitors.
Beccy Swaine, learning and engagement manager at Somerset Art Works, said: "There was a really lovely sense of coming together to celebrate community and creativity with music, dance and plenty of cake.
"This project has been a truly collaborative process from start to finish, every single element featured on the banners has been created by the workshop participants with Jenny."
