CHARD-based transport and logistics company C&D South West have bought an additional warehousing site in Martock.
C&D was founded in 1987 and the latest move is part of the commitment to invest in the future of the organisation and the local area.
The form offers a guaranteed 24-hour delivery service to every UK postcode every day, with 96 per cent of the business being palletised distribution for customers based within a 40-mile radius of its HQ.
With many customers based in the South West of England, as well as transporting goods across the UK and Europe, C&D has continuously provided excellent service and support to customers and staff over the past three unprecedented years.
Now, with another successful yet challenging year passing by, the organisation is looking forwards to investing in the future and further growing its business.
The new site in Martock has been purchased by C&D to expand its existing service offering and bring new and exciting opportunities for growth within the business and the surrounding area.
C&D hopes to provide new jobs through the expansion of its fleet and service offering, consequently enabling them to better serve current and new customers.
Lorna Hammond, C&D’s managing director said: "It’s with great pleasure to announce the addition of our new yard at Martock.
"With this new facility, C&D have made their next big step into investing in the future.
"This will allow us to further expand our service offering to customers with additional storage and warehousing capacity, alongside an expansion of yard space to grow our vehicle fleet for future work.
“After battling through the past few years adapting to life with Covid-19, C&D has continued to stay strong and resilient.
"With increased reliance on our transport services, these past few years gave us the push we needed to expand our services in order to continue providing a 5-star service for each and every client.
"We’re both excited and honoured to reach this achievement, and hope that this new business venture will open new doors for not only us as a business, but for the people of Martock and the wider Somerset community too.”
The new site boasts 26,728sq ft of warehousing, yard and office space as well as a healthy amount of future job opportunities for the local community.
