A WOMAN is raising funds for a hospice in memory of her brother-in-law with a charity raffle.
Aimee Castle, who now lives in Axminster, said the charity also helped her brother-in-law, Alex, from Chard, who recently passed away from brain cancer.
Aimee from Chard, has set up the event which will take place on Sunday, May 1.
The raffle will raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton to “give something back for the amazing work they do”.
She said: “I wanted to give something back for the amazing things they do. It wasn’t just the help they give to Alex but also to all the family. They were heroes.
“Organising this raffle gave me something to do and I had something to concentrate on and keep my mind off things.
“Charity events were on hold because of Covid so they struggled for donations, and I wanted to give something back.
“This raffle is also to keep Alex’s memory alive. He was an amazing young man that was loved by all and had the kindest heart. I am super proud to call him my brother-in-law.”
Aimee was helped by residents and businesses in the community and said she was “overwhelmed” by the support.
She added: “It brought the community together, I am overwhelmed by the generosity that they are showing. It’s amazing.”
Anyone who wishes to take part and buy raffle tickets can contact Aimee on aimeecastle@outlook.com.
Tickets are £2 a strip or £5 for 3 strips.
