A MAN from Chard will raise funds for Mind with a sponsored hair, beard, and body wax.

Steven Davies will raise funds for the Mind charity, to help all those affected by epilepsy and raise awareness for mental health.

Steven said: “I have been thinking about that for years, it will be quite good to do something and help the research.”

This is the first time Steven decides to raise funds for a charity. He said he is “looking forward to it”.

He added: “It’s been nerve-wracking, but I am happy to do it.”

His wife, Michelle, will support him in the challenge and said she was “proud” of his decision.

She said: “I think it was a good idea and I am proud of him. He wanted to do something to raise awareness as we both suffer from mental health.

“I am just proud of what he’s doing.”

Steven’s charity event was originally going to take place at the Perry Street Social Club on Saturday, April 30 from 7.30pm to 11pm.

However, Steven has postponed it and will soon choose a new date.

The charity night will also include a raffle and a disco.

All the funds raised with the event will be donated to the Mind charity.
