THE Welcome Bap, which is the coffee shop run by Chard Baptist Church, celebrated its 30th birthday recently.
The name originates from a shortened form of Baptist and also from the bacon baps that are included on the menu.
Customers past and present were invited to join the celebrations for a hot drink and a slice of birthday cake.
The cake was cut by Margaret and Hugh Rodway who were both involved in the early life of the café.
Customers of the coffee shop like the friendly atmosphere and helpful staff who are all volunteers from the Chard area but not all from the Baptist Church.
There is a Prayer Request Box for customers to put in prayers for people they know or for themselves and staff will include them in their prayer time before opening up.
The Welcome Bap is open Wednesdays – Saturdays from 10am to noon and you would receive a very warm welcome if you visited.
