TWO siblings have shaved their heads and raised more than £2000 for Save the Children Ukraine.

Yesterday (March 10), 11-year-old Rowan Lewis and his sister Evie, 13, from Ilminster, shaved their “beautiful locks” hoping to help Ukrainian children.

The idea originally came to Rowan who “was just wondering how he could help” and then his sister also joined in. Together they raised almost £2500.

Ade Lewis, their dad, previously said: “I'm so proud of them. After reading about the children suffering in Ukraine, they decided to shave their heads to raise money to help them and we set up a Just Giving page.”

Mr Lewis also said his children had to raise their initial £100 fundraising target to £1000, which was however quickly exceeded.

He said: “He was really hoping that he could raise £100 for the charity but we had to increase that target from £100 to £250 within the first 10-minutes, then to £500 half an hour later.

“After just 12-hours Rowan has managed to raise almost £600."
