THE Rotary Club of Crewkerne recently presented a commemorative plaque to ARK at Egwood near Merriott, to celebrate the club's donation with match funding from International Rotary Foundation, towards the covered eating/kitchen area extension which includes a four oven Aga for cooking.
A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Crewkerne said: “Our members have been supporting this venture since it was first set up in 2018, to support people with a variety of additional needs and assist adults and young people to develop their social skills, which enables them to join in the community or a workplace with confidence.
“It is such an engaging place where everyone can achieve, learning all sorts of practical skills through working with the animals, growing vegetables and flowers, learning rural crafts and arts, and moving on to modern technology.
“ARK at Egwood provides a very valuable service to the community both locally and countrywide, which fills a major social need.
"The Rotary Club of Crewkerne are proud to be associated with its success, which ongoing, is dependent on the commitment of volunteers, the enthusiasm of the clients and dedication by a small team of permanent staff.”
