A PUBLIC meeting about the extreme flooding in Chard is now set to go ahead in light of the new Government guidance.
The drop-in session, due to be held Chard on Monday (January 24), was cancelled by Somerset County Council (SCC) last week.
After the meeting postponement was announced, mayor of Chard, Cllr Jason Baker, said Chard Town Council members would still be there on January 24 and other agencies, such as Wessex Water, were still invited to attend.

Now, SCC has announced they will be attending the drop-in event.
A spokesperson for SCC said: "We will be at the event now with the change in Government guidelines this week."
The new Government guidelines are as follows:
- People will no longer be advised to work from home
- Face masks will no longer be compulsory in indoor spaces from January 17
- Masks in secondary school classrooms are no longer mandatory
- And people will no longer need a vaccination pass to gain entry into venues and large events
The meeting will be held at the Guildhall in Chard on January 24 between 2:30pm and 6pm.Those not able to attend the meeting can send comments via email to flooding@somerset.gov.uk.
This will be followed by a Chard Town Council meeting at 6.30pm.
