NEIGHBOURS in a Somerset village will be sharing a massive £7.3 MILLION lottery jackpot.

It has been revealed that TA12 6 - a Martock postcode - is the winning sector in the People’s Postcode Lottery’s biggest ever prize pot.

The full winning postcode will be revealed next week, but 411 players in the town have already been told they have won a minimum of £5,000 each.

The £7.3 million prize will be divided between each of the lottery’s players in the postcode sector.

Those playing with the full willing postcode will take home the biggest cheques.

Players will find out exactly how much they’ve won at a special outdoor event on Friday (October 1), at Kingsbury Episcopi Community Centre.

TV presenter and People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Matt Johnson, will be on hand to reveal the prizes and present the cheques alongside fellow ambassador, Judie McCourt.

Judie said: “I can’t wait to meet our players in Martock and tell them how much they’ve won, and it will be even more special doing it in person.

"Congratulations to all our players, I’ll see you soon!”

People’s Postcode Lottery was created solely to raise funds for charities and players have now raised more than £750 million for thousands of good causes.

These include Maggie’s cancer care centres, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, and the Woodland Trust.

A minimum of 33% of the price of every ticket goes to charity.

Local good causes have also benefitted from player support. Somerset charity, In Charley’s Memory, received £19,351 this year to help young people access counselling services.

The Postcode Millions draw was held on behalf of Postcode Earth Trust, which funds charities dedicated to supporting the natural, creative and built environment through activities that promote awareness and understanding.
