PUPILS enjoyed a summer of fun sporting activities this year thanks to a partnership with sports coaches.
The Restart Learning Partnership partnered with Pro-coaching to offer pupils sports coaching for six weeks.
The summer school was based at both The Redstart Primary School in Chard and Holy Trinity Primary School in Taunton.
It ran from 8.30am until 4.30pm every day, with a mixture of sports including basketball, football, rounders, tag rugby and more.
Justin Burke from Pro-Coaching said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be able to put a programme in place for the children over the summer holidays.
“It was great to so many happy faces enjoying themselves.
"And we hope to be running more activities again soon.”
In total 265 children attended the holiday scheme across both schools, and the summer school ran for 2,186 single days overall.
At the end of every week, each pupil received a medal and prizes were given out for great effort and a good attitude.
A spokesperson for The Redstart Learning Partnership added: “After carefully assessing the risks it was such a fabulous opportunity to be able to offer our summer school with the help and support of Pro-Coaching.
“The children had such a wonderful time participating in such a broad range of enrichment activities and being awarded for their achievements at the end of the week.
“It was such a fabulous success and our thanks go to Pro-coaching for their organisation.
"We are looking forward to offering this again over the Christmas holidays, all being well.”
