A CAR was driven into a hedge and deliberately set on fire in Chard during the early hours of this morning (July 18).
Fire crews attended the incident on Furnham Road in Chard just after 12.45am.
A fire engine from Chard was on the scene within minutes and they soon had the fire under control.
"There were two firefighters in breathing apparatus using one hose reel jet to extinguish it, before a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
"Once the vehicle and scene were made safe, duty of care was left with the police."
