A HELP and information centre has been set up after the flash flooding which hit Chard yesterday (June 28).
South Somerset District Council has set up the facility, which will see members of the Customer Connect and Environmental Health teams working alongside Chard Town Council to offer advice and support.
They are at the Guildhall from 10am today (June 29).
Council officers will also be visiting properties and business in Chard to offer further guidance and support.
"Heavy rain affected several roads in and around Chard yesterday leading to several properties being flooded and road closures," a council spokesperson said.
"All roads have now reopened and, since 5am, South Somerset District Council’s street cleaning team has been assisting Somerset County Council Highways in ensuring debris and mud is cleared from affected roads.
