A NEW e-scooter subscription service is set to launch in Yeovil this week.
Zwings, who run the e-scooters in the town, is working with South Somerset District Council (SSDC) to offer a Zwings Ride Pass.
This will mean riders will be able to buy passes based on how much they use the e-scooters.
Sarah Dyke, SSDC's portfolio holder for environment, said they are "delighted" about the launch of the service.
"This ride pass is a great initiative to reward users who have embraced and incorporated regular e-scootering into their day to day lives and have reduced the reliance on their cars," she said.
"We hope this new incentive will encourage more people to make the switch to this sustainable, cleaner mode of transport for those short about town trips and be advocates for cleaner air and a better environment for all."
There will be four pass options including a £50 pass, £25 pass, £10 pass and £5 package.
Riders will also have access to up to an hour of free scooting, as part of their bundle.
Joe Lewin, Zwings CEO, added: "By launching the Zwings Ride Pass subscription service, we are offering our riders a more cost-efficient way of getting around town and completing their commute.
"As we move towards summer, Zwings rental e-scooters have become an essential socially-distanced, sustainable, and enjoyable transport solution in Yeovil.
"Most of our riders use our e-scooters as a first and last mile commuting option for their daily personal trips.
"We hope that the introduction of services like Zwings Ride Pass will help achieve long-term behavioural changes within Yeovil, and encourage people to switch to sustainable modes of travel - ultimately reimagining the way communities travel by creating a new culture of shared transportation."
Zwings will be rolling out the new subscription service across all their locations in the UK over the coming months, but have chosen Yeovil as the launch site.
