MARTOCK Gallery has been recognised as the Art Gallery of the Year by the South England Prestige Awards and currently stands as the top gallery in the “three best rated for South Somerset”.
Martock Gallery is a picture framing business and art gallery based in Water Street, Martock.
The business was founded almost 30 years ago and, following the retirement of the original owners, Mandy and James bought the business in June 2022.
Since taking over the business, Martock Gallery has made over 8,000 frames and welcomed over 4,000 customers.
Customers regularly travel from London, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Devon, Cornwall and the entire Somerset region for framing.
Showcasing a wide variety of work from artists and artisans predominantly based in the South West, the gallery also works with national and international artists.
New works include original pieces highlighted with gold leaf by architectural artist, Demi Lang, local Somerset scenes in oils and acrylics by Lucy Hawkins, botanical art by Alison Finch, still life by Jenny Barron and Rebecca Lardner’s seascape and harbour scenes, inspired by the South West coast.
For the last 16 years Prestige Awards have been running national and international awards under the Corporate Live Wire and LTG business platforms.
In 2018 they introduced regional awards to recognise smaller, independent businesses that are extremely successful and hard working on a local level.
The nominations that are submitted forward may be from previous customers and the public for each business category, and once the allocation of nominations is met, all businesses within that category are then passed onto their panel of industry expert judges who will then pick a winner.
Publicly sourced information is also used such as reviews, testimonials, core values & services, branding of businesses, and information provided on the company’s website and their social media platforms.
Now, the results are finally in and Martock Gallery has officially been recognised as the Art Gallery of the Year by the South England Prestige Awards.
