IN light of the recent US election results, Adam Dance, MP of Yeovil and South Somerset, did not wish to comment, so the wider Liberal Democrat party have shared their thoughts on Trump’s return to The White House.
Today (Wednesday, November 6) Donald Trump, 78, was elected the 47th president of the United States - winning the race, during which he was convicted of felonies including rape and survived an assassination attempt.
Whilst Adam Dance did not wish to respond, the rest of the Liberal Democrats have come forward and shared their views with us, saying this is a truly “dark day for people around the globe.”
The rest of the Liberal Democrats party added: “The world’s largest economy and most powerful military will be led by a dangerous, destructive demagogue.
“The next President of the United States is a man who actively undermines the rule of law, human rights, climate action, international trade and global security.
“Millions of Americans – especially women and minorities – will be fearful about what comes next. We stand with them.
“Now more than ever, we must stand up for the core liberal values of equality, democracy, human rights and the rule of law – at home and around the world.”
