APPLE Orchard Pre-School, part of Herne View Primary School, visited Ilminster Library as part of Libraries Week 2024 from October 7- 14.
Libraries Week is a celebration of life-long learning in the nation’s much-loved libraries and this year Apple Orchard surprised Ilminster library with their adorable field trip.
This year's Libraries Week hopes to highlight the significant role that all libraries play in inspiring learning, providing accessibility and a safe space for everyone, and helping individuals unlock and fulfil their potential at every stage of life.
The children massively enjoyed joining in with "Toddler Time" at the library - where they all songs and stories and chose various books to borrow and bring back to Apple Orchard Pre-School to share and enjoy together.
Cheryl Herrick, one of the Pre - School leaders said: "This week allows us to celebrate the various activities our local library offer.
"The benefit of heading to the library is to spend some time together finding books for shared reading and exploring the different activities they have on offer.
"The library can be a calm sanctuary in a sea of playgrounds and soft plays. The children sometimes need a quiet time and space to relax and read.
"We also enjoyed joining in with Toddler Time where children can sing along to the different themed songs and listen to a story. It is a great experience to have and we are very lucky to have a Library in Ilminster.
"We want to thank Ilminster library for letting Apple Orchard Pre-School join in this wonderful event."
