Steeleye Span will continue their 50th anniversary celebrations with a special show in Yeovil
The folk-rock pioneers will perform at the Westlands Ballroom on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Five decades on, the band continues to celebrate their famous past alongside their recent history.
This is evident in their latest album release, The Green Man Collection, which features a reworking of Hard Times with Status Quo's Francis Rossi, and a cover of Elvis Costello's Shipbuilding.
Title track, 'The Green Man', is of special interest to Steeleye fans, a long-lost song by former band member Bob Johnson, which addresses climate change predating its widespread discussion.
The band is set to embark on a full UK tour in support of the album, their first live dates of the year.
They will be joined by new member Athena Octavia, an acclaimed classical violinist and part of indie folk band Iris & Steel.
The night will offer a selection of songs spanning their rich history, coupled with fan favourites.
Steeleye Span, led by Maddy Prior, has enjoyed one of the most creative periods in their history over the past two decades.
Doors to the Yeovil show open at 7pm, with tickets priced at £29.50 per person, £28 concessions.
