SOMERSET has been ranked among the UK's best places to live.
New findings show the county as the tenth best place to live in the nation, decided by research on reviews of the UK’s new property developments.
Residents rated every aspect of their property, including its location, to give an overall rating, which could then be ranked to create the rankings.
HomeViews has compiled the location ratings from more than 6,000 residents of the UK’s new homes , submitted between July 2022 and June 2023, to create this list.
Somerset placed tenth in the rankings, with an average rating of 4.57 out of five, an average asking price of £392,808, and an average rent of £1,353 per calendar month.
A spokesperson said: "Rounding off the top ten with another beautiful rural county, it’s Somerset.
"This county in South west England offers miles of beautiful coastline, combined with stunning inland landscapes including Exmoor, the Quantocks and the Mendip Hills.
"Bristol is within easy reach, while the M5 provides access towards Exeter and Plymouth beyond.
"Somerset is a beautiful county in the south of England, with plenty to offer any prospective home buyers.
"The county has lush green fields and an abundance of wildlife, with some areas designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)."
Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen ranked top of the list with an average rating of 4.9 out of five.
Somerset was narrowly beaten by Shropshire (4.6), Essex (4.61), and Manchester (4.67).
