THE Chard Ladies Evening Guild (CLEG) held their final meeting at Hornsbury Mill, combining a celebratory lunch with a glass of Prosecco upon arrival, which was enjoyed by 18 ladies.
Although the occasion was tinged with sadness, marking over 42 years for the Guild, it was also an enjoyable event, abundant with cherished memories brought up by those in attendance.
Some members present at the lunch once worked on the Chard Tapestry; a project completed for the Millennium which now resides on the first floor of the Guildhall.
Over the years, the Guild has also made numerous donations to charities.
Each lady was gifted a card from the Guild, along with a present.
The attached photographs capture the ladies in attendance at the lunch, as well as the current and former Chairpersons.
Several items, including meeting minutes, photographs, scrapbooks, and the chairman’s pendant, will be held at Chard Museum.
The museum has kindly agreed to incorporate these artefacts as part of their exhibition on Chard's history.
