Amica Care's Garden Competition 2024 was won by The Orchards Care Home Crewkerne, with a spectacular Disney themed garden.
A part of the centenary celebrations of Disney Magic, The Orchards charmed the judges with a lively Disney parade, just like the ones in Paris and a striking garden design, reminiscent of cherished tales.
Their garden, a whimsical fusion of Alice's Wonderland and Peter Pan's Neverland caught everyone's eye and immortalised the Disney ambiance.
Residents and staff of all Amica Care homes played a part in the competition, demonstrating their inventiveness by transforming their gardens into scenes from popular Disney stories.
The Orchards' team, involving Crewkerne Scouts and Maiden Beech Primary School, dedicatedly worked to bring their imaginative vision to reality.
This year's competition included a category aimed at biodiversity, aligning with Amica Care’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.
As winners, The Orchards was awarded a £200 voucher for their residents' funds and a trophy to be proudly showcased in their home.
Amica Care’s CEO, Keren Wilkinson, said: "We are thrilled with the enthusiasm and talent shown by all homes in this year's competition.
"Each garden was a testament to the passion and creativity of our residents and staff, making this year's event a resounding success."
