The Barrington Fete returns bigger and better than ever this summer.

It will take place on Saturday, August 17 from 12pm to 4pm, promising a fun-filled day for all the family.

Entry is priced at just £1 per person, while children under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge.

A number of attractions are planned for the day, ranging from musical performances by Phoenix Brass Band and The Ukuleles Group, to the traditional Punch & Judy Show and the energetic Morris Dancers.

St Giles Animal Centre has generously organised a Dog Show, featuring a variety of categories such as Best Pup, Fabulous Fella, and Best Rescue.

Additionally, the fete will offer numerous activities for children, including a bouncy castle, face painting, and last one standing.

Traditional games like skittles and splat the rat are guaranteed to keep attendees entertained, with the exciting prospect of winning a three-course meal at The Barrington Boar in the day's raffle.

In case you get hungry on the day, visitors can enjoy cream tea, hot burgers, sausages, pork rolls, and a selection of drinks from the licensed bar.

An ice-cream station, cake stall, and the popular bottle tombola are also on the menu.

The fete will showcase over 35 local craft and produce stalls, a display of classic cars, and an owl and hawk exhibit.

The month-long Scarecrow Extravaganza, involving local gardens, will culminate at the fete with the announcement of the winner.

If you fancy letting your hair down in the evening, attendees can enjoy a hog roast dinner (vegetarian option available) and live music from The Vinyl Monkeys.

Tickets for the evening show, which will run from 7pm to midnight, are £15 each (£7.50 for under 12s) and can be purchased by contacting Suzanne Weekes on 07545 601888 or suzanneweekes@aol.com.
