Ilminster Arts Centre has unveiled a new exhibition, 'By Invitation', showcasing invited artists' interpretations of nature, wildlife, and organic shapes.

The exhibition, displaying a variety of art forms, including paintings, prints, textiles, photography, and sculptures, is open to the public until August 24, 2024.

You will be able to see it Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30am to 3pm.

Each contribution provides a unique insight into the world's beauty and complexity.

It features artists such as Leah Hislop, renowned for her installations and sculptures that merge with their environments.

Multi-faceted artist, Kate Norton, who designs picturesque landscapes in yarn and textiles, taking inspiration from the Somerset Levels has work at the exhibition.

Meanwhile, Lucy Hawkins' semi-abstract art pieces, influenced by the vibrant Southwest landscapes, showcases the magic of acrylics, oils, and other media.

Shena Bulcock's intricate wildlife and natural forms work provides viewers with a closer look of the environment.

Sian Cann, an artist-centred on experimental fine art photography, bases her work on personal struggles and the resilience of nature.

Ann Fagan, a printmaker and textile artist, finds inspiration in the pattern and texture of the Somerset landscape.

Rachel Moffett's photographs delve into nature's beauty and fragility, while Hilary Giles' ecologically focused prints capture natural forms' essence.

Wendy Hermelin uses recycled fabrics to depict landscapes, flowers, and natural elements superbly.

Grace Green's paintings explore the richness of life and the delicate balance of nature, featuring plant forms and organic structures in an abstract style.

Ashar's abstract oil paintings reflect her emotional connection with the Somerset Levels' scenery.

Finally, self-taught sculptor Mike Lanigan, has a stone carving passion, and he provides a tactile engagement with his artwork, demonstrating his love for the rhythmic process of sculpting.

Expressing her excitement for the exhibition, arts centre manager Bryony Tidball said, "We are delighted to present this exceptional exhibition, which not only showcases the talent of these invited artists but also celebrates the profound and varied ways in which nature and organic forms inspire creativity."
