HAMBRIDGE Primary School (part of Preston Primary Academy Trust) had some good news, their pupils have won two accolades.

The school had achieved the School Games Gold Mark and also the Eco Club achieved the Eco Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction.

Leanne Hall said: "Sport is valued hugely at Hambridge where the children take part in a range of sporting activities each term and enter many competitions. The Eco Club meet weekly and have put on events at school such as Crazy Hair Day for the OneTree Foundation."

The School Games Mark is a government-led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Participating in this process allows schools to evaluate their PE provision and assists them in developing an action plan for future progress.

Now that Hambridge Primary school has achieved gold level, they will be given the opportunity to additionally apply for the platinum award, which is then valid for two years.

The School Games Mark for the 2023/24 academic year will be available from Wednesday 01 May to Friday 26 July 2024.

The Eco-Schools programme is designed to be pupil-led, every day the Eco-Schools team learn about impactful environmental actions that have been completed by forward-thinking and innovative young people.

The Eco-Schools website showcases each schools these ideas to inspire other schools to take part in the scheme. If schools complete a fantastic eco-project, or tackled one of the Eco-Schools Seven Steps in a unique or effective way you can use their platform to showcase the idea to other schools.
