St Mary's Primary School, Thorncombe has been awarded the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2023/2024 academic year.
This comes after achieving bronze last year, with school bosses initially hoping for silver this year.
The Government-led award scheme, launched in 2012, rewards schools for developing competition across their school and into the community.
A spokesperson from St Mary's Primary School said: "We are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
"As part of our application, we fulfilled criteria in areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs.
"We are pleased everyone's hard work has been rewarded this year."
