The event is organised by Experience Ilminster which aims to celebrate and promote Ilminster and its community in all its variety and to raise the town’s profile in the surrounding area.

Experience Ilminster Community Interest Company (Exil) was set up in 2007 following a public vote on the awarding of a grant from South Somerset District Council.

It acts as a community resource and makes its facilities and experience in promoting Events (including the Ilminster Midsummer Experience)  available to other community groups or for public celebrations.
