A 20-YEAR-old dog called Joey is now up for adoption from Chard's Ferne Animal Sanctuary.
Joey, who has been living outside for the last year, arrived at the centre on Christmas Eve.
Joey, who is deaf and blind, is looking for a cosy retirement home where he can curl up on the sofa and relax.
He would be best suited as the only dog in the house and still enjoys a small potter outside.
If you can give Joey a home, visit the Ferne Animal Sanctuary website.
A spokesperson from the sanctuary said: "Little Joey arrived with us on Christmas Eve.
"The poor chap's owner sadly passed away, Joey has been living outside for the last year. Our thoughts are with his family at such a hard time but we have to focus on this little one.
"Luckily we have an amazing team, one of which had him at home to enjoy a warm comfortable Christmas while we waited for a vet check before we can think about finding him his last sofa.
"Fingers crossed for this little guy who saw his 20th birthday on December 1."
