A SHEPTON Beauchamp man has been banned from driving after being caught behind the wheel in a hotel car park.
Shane Burford, 30, of Silver Springs, was found guilty of the charge in his absence at a hearing at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
The court was told Burford was spotted on December 7 last year driving a Mercedes car in the Premier Inn Car Park on Express Park, Bristol Road, Bridgwater, when he was not insured.
He was fined £660 and ordered to pay a £264 victim surcharge and £90 towards prosecution costs, meaning he must pay a total court bill of £1,014.
He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.
Burford was also found guilty in his absence of driving without the correct licence, for which he received no separate penalty.
