A SPEEDING motorist has avoided a ban despite collecting enough points as it would have affected his family.
Kevin Liam Foy, 48, of North Street, Martock, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (August 22).
The court was told that Foy was clocked at 38mph n a 30mph zone in Homberg Way, Bridgwater, on November 11 last year.
He was fined £281, along with a £112 victim surcharge and a contribution of £90 towards prosecution costs.
He was also given three penalty points on his driving licence, which took him over the total number of points for a ban.
But magistrates decided not to disqualify him due to the effect it would have on his family.
